OUTPUT DEVICES Computer output device is a device that releases the processed data from the computer to either the user or any of the storage devices. There are many devices that produce data in different forms such as audio, Visual and hard copy. Computer output devices are type of peripheral devices connected to a computer, using cables or a wireless network. AN OUTPUT DEVICES PRINTER: This is an output device, which can be used to produce Hardcopy output.   TYPES OF PRINTER The types of printer are listed below; Impact Printers Non-impact Printers   IMPACT PRINTERS This is a type of printer, which usually make contact with paper while printing. It is usually noisy. Examples include: Daisy Wheel Printer Dot Matrix Printer Line Printer   NON-IMPACT PRINTERS This is a type of printer, which do not make contact with paper while printing. It is usually less noisy than the impact printers. Examples include: Ink Jet Printer Laser Printer Thermal Printer   EVALUATION: List the types of printers known to you. All output devices are grouped into a single unit of the computer hardware called OUTPUT UNIT. Examples of Output Devices are; Monitor ( also called Visual Display Unit-VDU) Printer Graph plotter Speaker Multimedia Projector.   FEATURES OF MONITOR A Monitor produces softcopy output (i.e. output that can be viewed on theits screen) It has three parts, which are; Power cable with which it connects to the power source.
