Skills used in Wrestling

  1. The open stance
  2. The neck and forearm hold
  3. The under – arm sweep
  4. The hand pin
  5. The buttock fling

Skills used in Judo

Skills used in Gymnastics

Gymnastics are grouped into three areas namely— the STUNTS, TUMBLING and APPARATUS WORK. The stunts and tumbling activities are grouped as floor exercises or ground work. Apparatus activities are the gymnastic activities done with equipment. Jump support (side horse), dips (parallel bar) pull-up (horizontal bars), and skin the cat (horizontal bars). A SPOTTER is an individual that assist another in performing physical activities.

  1. Front crawl
  2. Breast stroke
  3. Back stroke
  4. Butterfly stroke

Safety Measures in Contact and Non – Contact Sports

  1. The arena / field of play must be cleared of all dangerous objects.
  2. The players must imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship (give and take).
  3. Lines dimension and specification must show clearly.
  4. Sports material and equipment to be used must be properly maintained and in good shape.
  5. Be knowledgeable of what to do.
  6. Have adequate warm – up before performing.
  • Proceed from simple to complex activities.
  • Always wear the correct costumes (wears).
  1. Follow the coaching points.
  2. Perform activities within one’s ability.
  3. Avoid prolonged activities.
  • Activities should stop when fatigue sets in (tired).
